On A Personal Note
Heather started her journey as a social media guru in 2010 while running her online jewelry business. The skills she learned while successfully selling her handmade jewelry worldwide were applied in helping her friends with their marketing efforts. Before long, she had a thriving social media management business – Social Media Maiden. Since 2010, she has watched the landscape of social media change a multitude of times. Keeping on top of trends and new technology is a part of her education she loves!
In addition to the management offerings, she also has found a love for teaching business owners to successfully manage their websites and digital footprints. She has taught classes in the foothills of Colorado, the Denver Metro Area, Springfield, Missouri and Austin, Texas. She is working on her comprehensive social media training program for small business owners that will launch in 2024!
While teaching in Austin, Texas, in 2020, Heather met and married the love of her life. One of her clients asked her about Facebook dating and if it was something that might be beneficial for them. In her research, Billy messaged Heather, and it was the beginning of a new chapter in her life. During their wedding, this client shared the story of how she was the reason they met!
Since getting married, they have moved to Springfield, Missouri, and onto their current location. In 2021, Heather and Billy moved to Herington, Kansas. The move to Kansas has been exactly what the Emes needed. Farming, small-town life, and a tribe of friends who have become family are the daily experiences. They live in an adorable home built in the 1920s with their herd of beloved pets. Roxy (red heeler/German Shepard Mix), Jax (Miniature Australian Shephard), Liam, Logan, Addison, and Lochlan (4 Rescued Former Barn Cats) share their slice of heaven. To call life perfect would be an overstatement, but it’s certainly pretty damn close!
In addition to running Eme Marketing & Design, Heather is in the process of forming Eme Creatives, her next handmade jewelry venture. She is also the graphic coordinator for Colorado Serenity Magazine part-time, which keeps her connected to her hometown of Evergreen, Colorado.
Heather is also a writer of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. Her poetry has been featured in the International Library of Poetry’s collections, Tranquil Rains of Summer in 1998 and The Dawn of Inspiration in 1999. Her poetry also appears in the collection, Poetic Voices of America by the Sparrowgrass Poetry Forum in the fall of 1999. She is working on a 3-book series of women’s fiction and several other works. In addition to her fiction projects, she also wrote a monthly advertorial for Colorado Serenity Magazine titled Social Media Matters.
